Maqui smoothie bowl 

Move over acai bowls, maqui bowls are here. Maqui is a superfood 4 times stronger than Acai & Goji berry (previously considered as the highest ORAC value superfruits) 

ORAC is a scale on which antioxidants are measured. Maqui has 50x more antioxidants than red wine. 

It helps to protect cells against oxidative stress and fights free radicals, its proven to be effective for anti aging. 

This is a delicious way to include Maqui into your diet. I’ve been making the most of it before the mornings get too cold. 

You can top your smoothie bowl with what ever you like, I’ve included some of my favorites below. 


* 1 frozen banana 

* 1/4 cup of frozen blueberry 

* 1 cup of ice 

* 1/4 cup of cashews (preferably soaked) 

* 1 Tbsp of chia seeds 

* 1 Tsp of maqui 

* 1 Tsp of raw honey (optional) 

1. Blend all ingredients until just smooth. 

2. Over blending will make the mixture more runny.

3. Top with your choice of toppings, some suggestions are: berries, banana, coconut, bee pollen, cacao nibs, nuts/ seeds- anything you fancy!
